How do they test for hepatitis c and what is the treatment for it?

Hep-C requires specialized blood testing. There is a treatment (interferon) via injections along with an oral medication. It's a rough treatment making you feel like you have the flu every day. Depending on your age and how long you've had Hep-C your doctor would recommend if it would be best for you. There is no cure. If you are advanced with the disease, you can get a liver transplant. It's easily detected from a blood test.The treatment(not a cure)is a series of 3 gamma globulin shots.





Also note that Hapatitis c never leaves the body,but is "contained" by the shots.Those infected can never give blood.

The determination factor is blood tests on the liver function enzymes (chem panel/ALT + AST), which will detect abnormalities. Currently, there is no cure for Hepatitis C. However, there are treatments for symptoms. At the most, people who are Hep C positive may go into remission (absence of symptoms). This variety of Hep C is contracted via sexual intercourse with a Hep C+ person, and also via drug use (needle sharing). Hep C, when serious enough, causes liver failure, among other things.
