How to test for vitamin C in fruits...procedure, equipment etc?

how do you test for vitamin C in fruits? iv worked out that you have to juice the fruits but how do i do the testing exactly? How do you make the DCPIP solution? Also, do you use Ascorbic acid as a controller to make sure the DCPIP is working? thanks

Reply:2,6-Dichlorophenol-Indophenol tablets are available from chemical supplers (Philip Harris Education for example). I tend to use a 0.025% solution, made according to instructions (siply dilute in usally 1 litre water) then serial dilution to desired conc.


This can then be calibrated with known conc. vit. C so that the amount in an unknown soln. can be determined.
