How many weeks does it take to figure out if you have HEPATITE C ? On a blood test?

well i got blood in my soure, from someone who has hepatite C. this happend last week





do i have to waint another week to take a blood test?

No...you should have what is called a Baseline right now...to make sure you are not carrying the virus already... then after the baseline another blood test will be required in 4-6 weeks...Hep 'C' can remain dormant in your body for years. But blood tests will show whether the virus is present.
Reply:The normal time period for hcv testing is about 50 days from point of risk factor. This is when the majority will test positive.





You can test now, but chances are you will be told you have to wait at least three weeks from point of exposure to 3 months.





if you develope flu like symptoms, go get an hcv test right away!





a baseline can tell if you already have hcv. so the above poster is correct as well.
