Hep c pcr test?

hi all

ive posted a few questions on here regarding this and apologise for the continous questions

i was exposed to a small risk of hep c 3 weeks ago

i know that the chances that ive contracted it are very small however i am unable to concentrate on anything while this is unresolved

i done some research and i know that the window period is 3-6 months,,however i dont think i can wait this long to put my mind at rest,

i also know that a pcr test can give me a result as soon as 3 weeks after the incident

does anyone know where i can get a pcr test done in London?

i know these tests are expensive and am willing to pay for them.

does anyone have any suggestions

thanks

Hep c pcr test?
Being that the UK is on socialized medicine, I am not sure how quickly you can get into the doctor, but the doctor should run one if you ask. They will do an Hep C anti-bodies test first. It's way cheaper.

Do a local search (on the web) for blood testing services. Not sure if Labcorp has facilities in London, but that is service that did it here for me in the US.

If you don't have any anti-bodies then there is a 99.8% chance you don't have HCV.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. if you do have or get it...it's not like you are going to die the next day. It is treatable and you can overcome it.
Reply:Given that HCV is usually a slow moving viral infection, unless you have symptoms I'd wait a little longer, however.....read on.

how do you know you have not been exposed to years ago?

Everyone has at least one risk factor for hcv infection. EVERYONE.

So, now that I've stated that remark, you can get tested now and if found to have it, chances are you had it long before your known risk factor a few weeks ago.

Good luck!
